Every week I’m adding more clubs and venues for you to visit/revisit/recommend, etc. Would love your comments on your favorite (or not so-favorite) bands, clubs and restaurants! Yes, restaurants, too. On the Brazos we love to mix fun and food. I’ve been getting some great recipes from some amazing cooks out there (keep ‘em coming!) and am adding a weekly recipe feature. So many of our clubs serve delicious food with live entertainment – you need to know about the great food available everywhere
on the Brazos. In a few short weeks, I’ll have my FREE phone app available (iPhone and Android) so folks on the Brazos can view the entertainment schedule anywhere and locate their favorite restaurants (maps and live links will be included) and discover new ones. Access recipes anytime, too! I guarantee it’ll be spiffy – there’s nothing else like it available on the Brazos – You’ll be the first to know as soon as it’s ready!
Did you know – you can click on any club/band/music (Pachomp’s list) for more info? Try it!
~Two surprises this week~
Jen’s first recipe installment – thank you Kevin Burns!
Garden Fresh Veggies and Leftovers Make Savory Jambalaya
From the Kitchen of Kevin Burns:
Meat: I used leftover ribeye steak, and BBQ chicken from the BBQ cook off at the Fishin’ Fiesta.
From the garden: Tomatoes & okra from our garden, wild rice that had barley & mushrooms in it (an all organic product I got at the “Relay for Life” cancer walk for my sister).
From the shelf: I used a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, creole seasoning, and galic powder.
On the stove: I cooked it for about an hour, maybe a little bit longer but not much. The cream of mushroom soup mixed with the okra and other ingredients made its own gravy/roux.
